Butler
Kevin’s vision and passion for assessing and then enhancing business models has led to his reputation as a world-class executive search consultant. His consultative experience has impacted both global operating companies as well as
incubating and early stage ventures. He has built entire management teams around some of the most leading edge technologies to date.
Kevin co-founded Heritage Partners in 2004 and has 15 years of executive search industry experience. He has served a broad range of pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device clients around the globe with both executive search and talent assessment assignments. He has successfully recruited hundreds of non-executive Directors, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operating Officers and Vice Presidents in most line and staff functions for clients ranging from major multinationals to venture-backed start-ups. Prior to founding HPI, he was the Managing Partner for Heidrick and Struggles' Global Health Care Practice. Earlier he led the Global Medical Device and Diagnostics Practice at Spencer Stuart. Mr. Butler began his search career with Russell Reynolds where he started and led their Healthcare Information Technology Practice. Before entering search, he had executive roles with Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson, and was a strategic management consultant with Marakon Associates and Dynamics Research Corporation. Mr. Butler spent 8 years on active duty in the US Army as an Armor, Cavalry and Infantry officer serving around the world. Kevin is on the Board of Visitors at The University of Maryland – Baltimore Campus and he’s served on a number of not-for-profit boards. He and his wife Margie have three wonderful children and they are active supporters of Vista Vocational and Life Skills Center in Westbrook, CT which supports adults with disabilities.
A native of Massachusetts, Kevin is a graduate of The US Military Academy at West Point where he received a B.S. in Engineering. He received an MBA from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.
Tig
Conger
Tig’s unique blend of senior level commercial experience within the pharmaceutical industry combined with his retained search industry career provide our clients with an exceptional skill set during the search process. His
pharmaceutical industry experience includes developing and implementing strategies that create long term value. This enables Tig to identify the candidate who will match the immediate staffing requirement and possesses the requisite experience to enhance the Company’s vision for the future.
Tig joined the firm in 2004 following a successful 20+ year career in commercial operations with Searle, Aventis, and Bayer where he was responsible for the successful management of major product launches in a number of therapeutic areas both in the U.S. and Europe. At HPI his work is focused on recruiting C-level executives for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and medical equipment companies. His clients have included both multi-national healthcare organizations as well as early stage venture backed companies.
Prior to joining HPI, Tig was Vice President of Marketing for Bayer's U.S. Pharmaceutical Division where he was responsible for Anti-Infective and Hospital products and previously their cardiovascular products. At Aventis, Tig was Director of Marketing for Cardiovascular and Allergy products and responsible for the development and management of several strategic alliances. Tig's consulting career began at Hayes/Hill where he was a Senior Associate in the strategy practice. Tig is a member of the Board of Trustees for the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases. Mr. Conger is a graduate of Tulane University where he received a B.S. in Engineering. He received an MBA from Columbia Business School. He resides in Milford, Connecticut with his wife Kathy and their four children.
Matthew J.
Vossler
The hallmark of Matt Vossler’s retained search experience is his ability to build and sustain strong relationships.
He knows his clients well, primarily because he has built their teams and has remained a strategic partner to them, continuing to understand their needs as their vision evolves. His dedication and commitment are indefatigable, whether to a corporate client or to the cancer research and fundraising organizations he works with.
Matt’s retained search work focuses on pharma and biotech companies. He has recently completed searches for CEOs and CFOs, as well as at the Executive Director and Vice President levels in a range of therapeutic areas within general management, research and development, commercial operations, regulatory affairs and technical operations. Prior to joining Heritage Partners, Matt was associated with two other retained search firms, including Heidrick & Struggles, Inc. where he was a Principal in the Global Life Sciences Practice. Earlier, he was President of Home Buyers Assistance Corporation (HBAC), a relocation management company servicing Fortune 500 companies.
In 1992, Mr. Vossler co-founded Swim Across America, a non-profit organization that raises funds and awareness for cancer research and treatment programs through a series of swimming events. He serves as the organization’s Chairman of the Board. Swim Across America has raised over $15 million, primarily benefiting Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, The Babies and Children’s Hospital of Columbia Presbyterian and the David Perini Clinic at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and The Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy.
Mr. Vossler, a graduate of Boston College, resides in Darien, CT with his wife Pamela and their two children.
Jane
Marsh
Jane Marsh joined Heritage Partners in 2006 as a Research Associate. Prior to joining the firm, Jane spent fourteen years with Heidrick & Struggles where she was Senior Associate Director in the Greenwich office. During her tenure there, she was part of the Health Care Practice, the Industrial Practice, the Board of Directors Practice, the Aviation and Aerospace Practice, the Consumer Practice, and the Supply Chain and Transportation Practice. She also served on several corporate task forces in the areas of technology, reengineering, and data quality. Prior to this position, Jane served with Boyden International as Research Director and with SpencerStuart Associates and Russell Reynolds Associates in a broad range of industries. She has experience across broad functional categories including boards of directors, general management, marketing, engineering, legal, clinical development and medical/regulatory affairs. Early in her career, she was a Securities Analyst in the Investment Research Department oft The Bank of New York.
Jane is a graduate of St. Lawrence University with concentrations in Economics and French. She is on the Board of Trustees of the Greenwich Library in Greenwich, CT. and is active in several community boards.
Peter J. M.
Goossens
His education on two continents and more than a decade of practical senior management experience on three continents around the world provide Peter with highly strategic global insight. His ability to analyze a client’s
needs “beyond the candidate” add value to an organization’s vision and goals. His successful track record in management team assessment and staffing provide the client with a spectrum of services which enhance their overall business model.
Prior to co-founding Heritage Partners and a year as a solo practitioner, Peter Goossens was a Director at Spencer Stuart. He focused on the Life Sciences and Industrial sectors, where his clients included large pharmaceutical and bio-tech start-up companies as well as major European and American manufacturers.
Until 1999, he managed the Brussels office for Spencer Stuart. Clients included Janssen Pharmaceutica, Toyota Motors Europe, and Rexam PLC. Over 90% of his assignments were pan-European, sourcing candidates around the globe. His peers recognized the contributions to his clients by awarding him the Quality Award in 1997. He took a leadership role in the life sciences practice.
Peter started his search career with the Curtiss Group, a regional US search firm in Boca Raton Florida. Earlier, he spent seven years with Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis) in Switzerland, Ecuador and The Dominican Republic with leadership roles in strategic planning, financial control and marketing/sales.
Peter holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Economic Sciences from St. Ignatius University in Antwerp, Belgium, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He speaks fluent English, Spanish, French and German apart from his native Dutch. Peter is an avid tennis player and outdoorsman. He lives in Berwyn, PA., with his wife, Neera. His son recently graduated from Stanford University and his daughter is entering law school this year having received her BS from McGill University.
Charles Grebenstein,
PHD
Charlie Grebenstein has been recruiting in the life sciences since the emergence of the biotechnology industry in the early 1980s. His expertise is in understanding the strategic leadership skills necessary to guide science and technology through from concept to commercial success.
Charlie has 25 years of experience in the retained executive search industry focusing on high-science clients and assignments. He was instrumental in building the Biotechnology Industry and Life Sciences Practice while at Skott/Edwards Consultants, and functioned as the Biotechnology Industry Practice Coordinator there for almost a decade.
Additionally, Charlie spent several years as a Principal in the firm of Brissenden, McFarland and Wagoner -- another AESC executive search firm where his practice included a broader general management component and exposure to complementary business sectors.
His executive search experience spans the recruiting of senior executives to technology-driven business environments including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, agriculture, environmental services, process industries, electronics, communications and manufacturing. The majority of his assignments have been for Chief Executive Officers and the individuals who report to them.
Charlie began his career as a staff economist in a commercial lending group at Bankers Trust Company - now Deutsche Bank - and later became a Venture Capital Associate at Exxon Enterprises.
Charlie graduated from The Pennsylvania State University where he majored in Economics. He holds an M.A., an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Economics awarded by the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. His prior experience also includes service as a Commissioned Officer in The United States Marine Corps.
Randi
Sperber Randi has devoted ten years to the life sciences recruiting
arena. In addition to her work in senior management assignments she has also developed a strong specialty in regulatory and scientific affairs staffing projects for the most respected biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies to date, including Amgen, J&J and Millennium. Her candidate development and assessment skills are finely tuned and provide our clients with best in class candidates to select from.
Randi is a Senior Associate with the firm. She is responsible for candidate identification and development. Randi has worked in executive search since 1998 and has focused exclusively in the life sciences since 2002. She has successfully conducted search assignments across a broad range of senior management functions within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device industries including CEO, President and CFO, as well as VPs of Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Sales and Marketing.
Randi transitioned into executive search following a ten year career in banking. She spent eight of those years in senior leadership roles with Citicorp North America culminating in the role of Vice President of Operations.
Randi holds a degree in Business Administration. Randi resides with her family in Westchester County, NY.
Terri
Angotto As the senior research officer for the firm, Terri is the cornerstone for each assignment we undertake. She is responsible for the development of strategy for each search HPI executes. With over 20 years devoted to recruiting in life sciences, she directs each assignment onto the fast track for successful and timely completion. Also, in her role as the head of our diversity practice, her team has delivered an impressive 25% diversity placement ratio.
Terri joined HPI at its inception and is a Partner with the firm. Prior to joining Heritage, Terri was an Associate with Heidrick & Struggles’ Health Care Practice and was based in the Firm’s Greenwich, Connecticut Office. Terri’s executive search career began in 1986 with a concentration in pharmaceuticals, medical devices and academia. Ms. Angotto has conducted assignments in all areas of senior general and financial management as well as scientific roles including clinical development, and medical/regulatory affairs.
At the earliest part of her career Terri was the Manager of Facilities and Services, located in the Chairman’s office of The Pittston Company/Brinks, a Fortune 100 company in Greenwich, Connecticut. She attended Purchase College in New York State.
Ms. Angotto is a member of the HBA (Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association) and serves on the HBA Marketing Committee. She also served on the 2007 Pathways Team for the organization which mentors younger women working in healthcare. She is an active member on the Fairfield Fundraising Board for Boys and Girls Village, a shelter for at risk children in Connecticut. A native of Connecticut, Terri, her husband Charlie and their two sons reside in Fairfield.
Joanne
Walsh Joanne Walsh is the Office Adminisrator and serves as the hub of the firm. Joanne began her search career in 1990 with a boutique firm specializing in senior level information technology professionals. She also spent five years with Spencer Stuart in their Stamford, CT office, supporting the Life Sciences, Financial Services and Internet/Media/Publishing practices. Just prior to joining Heritage Partners, Joanne spent three years with a boutique generalist firm serving Fortune 100 clients.
Prior to working in the retained executive search industry, Joanne held positions with Nestle Foods Corporation and Donnelly Marketing. She is an active volunteer with the Domestic Violence Crisis Center and currently sits on their Advisory Board. Joanne resides in Trumbull, CT with her husband Matt and their son.
Elizabeth B. McCabe During her career, Liz has built a strong network of senior-level relationships with executives in healthcare companies and world-renowned thought-leaders in US, Europe and Asia. Using her extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry and broad network, she is known for her ability to deliver highly creative and innovative solutions to her clients’ human capital needs.
Prior to joining Heritage Partners Elizabeth served as the Recruiting Partner for Essex Woodlands Health Ventures, a leading life sciences venture capital firm. In that role, she was responsible for cultivating and expanding Essex Woodlands Health Ventures relationships with executives and industry leaders across all sectors of the healthcare industry.
Ms. McCabe has over 10 years of senior level executive search experience; 8 years focused specifically in the life sciences industry. She has conducted CEO, COO, CSO, Head of R&D and general management searches for American and European pharmaceutical, biotech and medical devices companies. She has been a member of the Healthcare Practices of internationally recognized search firms such as Heidrick and Struggles, and Hunt Howe Partners.Ms. McCabe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College. She has lived and worked in Europe and is fluent in French. She resides in Manhattan with her husband Chris and their son.
